In Michigan the NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ACT Act 451 of 1994 defines what hunting is and where hunting near a residence may be restricted by the resident. But the DNR and the USDA are allowed to ignore these laws with impunity. Why?

These are:

  1. "NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ACT Act 451 of 1994 - (7) An individual shall not hunt with a firearm within 150 yards of an occupied building, dwelling, house, residence, or cabin, or any barn or other building used in connection with a farm operation, without obtaining the written permission of the owner, renter, or occupant of the property".

  2. NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ACT (EXCERPT)
    Act 451 of 1994
    324.43505 Definitions; H to N.
    Sec. 43505.

    (1) "Hunt" and "hunting" mean to pursue, capture, shoot, kill, chase, follow, harass, harm, rob, or trap a wild animal, or to attempt to engage in such an activity.
    (2) "Identification" means a driver license issued by Michigan, another state, or a Canadian province as accepted by the department, a state of Michigan identification card issued by the secretary of state, or a sportcard issued by the department.
    (3) "License" means a document or a tag, stamp, plastic card, or other device that may include a stamp or a tag that authorizes the licensee to hunt, fish, trap, or possess wild animals or aquatic species and other identification required by the department.
    (4) "Minor child" means a person less than 17 years old.
    (5) "Nonresident" means or refers to a person who is not a resident.

You can stop the culls being proposed and even ongoing culls by following the steps outlined here.

  •  All governing bodies be it a city or other body publish their ordinances on the internet on their website.

  •  Search for the rules pertaining to hunting, firearms and other subject matter that could impact the killing of deer in your locality.

  •  Their own rules almost always would prevent a cull if followed.

  •  Use this website to support your reasons for stopping the cull.

  •  Advertise in your local newspaper to inform the public about the cull or proposed cull. You can use any of our ads if you like.

  •  Don't be afraid to shame those proposing or conducting the culls as culls are evil.

  •  The majority of people are against culls but do not know about them

  •  Politicians do not like anything that can be negative information about themselves.

  •  All of the arguments in favor of culls are bogus, there is data to prove this on this site. It is all about making money!

  •  Prepare litigation based on the governing bodies published information to stop the cull or get a temporary injection against the cull.

  •  If you can afford an attorney great, if not while we can not provide legal advice, we can send you copies of the documents we have either filed or are prepared to file.

When it appears that city officials break or bend the law citizens must take action. One such action is to remove the elected officials responsible. Follow the link below to see what one citizen is doing about the corrupt deer cull in Ludington.
